My Fire and Water classes with Minakshi will be happening very soon at her Island Studio in the Florida Key’s. I am quite excited because this is where I feel I am learning to become more Yin, and through these classes I have the very special chance to embrace my inner fire in a different way. These Fire and Water classes are also very special to me because they are the only classes where I have the privilege of receiving; being held by every student in the warm water.
Am I checking their skills? No! I am just feeling their essence while in their arms and of course feeling the heart. It is a quiet time for me, feeling our inner fire (TW and P) connecting and linking each other. It is my great joy to express “their essence” as I felt it from my heart at the end of each course.
It is like two candle lights becoming one
to feel each other.
I would like to take this opportunity, to share a somewhat different view of the Fire element that I have been contemplating for some time now. Often when we think about fire, we naturally imagine the “sun” like our “heart “constantly working and shinning giving 100%. In fact, that is my motto with my teaching; I am always 100 % with my students feeling the student’s skills and energy – and of course helping find the very best flow of their essence mix — yet from the outside. The Triple Warmer and Pericardium, which are often known as the “second fire”, are the Yin of fire and also the mystery of fire. It is much like the moon reflecting the sun and shinning so quietly. The second fire time for me is to become the “moon fire” and reflect from the heart.
One of the main mysteries of oriental medicine for me hasbeen those 2 meridians TW and P. TW especially, there is no organ called Triple Warmer. So what is the mystery? Fact is both are located at critical points related to the water element. The Triple Warmer point is located right above the kidney point (water) on Yu points (back points) and on the front Mu points it is located right above the CV4 which is the well known point for the “Dan Tien” (water). While I was meditating on my mysterious TW I realized it was possibly the main factor for circulation of our essence of water (wisdom) for our entire body and mind. It is the spark for the “water” out of which wisdom is sent bubbling up to the surface.
It is clear that strongest time for the sun or first fire element (time clock) is mid day from 11 am to 3 pm (Heart and Small Intestine) but the second fire time is between 7 pm to 11 pm which is after the sun has set and moon has generally risen. This is our inner fire time, gently starting too light like a candle. It is the time to go inward to feel our inner fire and our emotion balance. It is the time to close the intimacy with your loved ones and connect deeply inward with yourself and the Energy of the moon which is the reflection of the first fire “sun” letting the moon reflecting in our water.
Fire and Water:
It is so fascinating! The techniques are basically birthed frominside our inner body — just like a bubbling spring from deep inside the earth — through the meridians and shiatsu points. True teaching is not only cultivating outside movement but also refining that fine ability to listen and follow our own inner wisdom.
First Fire (sun/heart) merges with Water, creating the major action of our body; circulating our blood throughout our entire body and mind. I call it the Energy of the Yang Fire. Although with the moon energy, which I call Yin Fire, we can go inward and feel our essence and even spark our own water to begin bubbling up wisdom – it is the life of the water.
When ancient water bubbles up to the surface, passing through the depths of the earth, this second fire is the key factor. Passing through the dark insides of the earth it is like the moon shining during the night.
Looking up at the moon and feeling – I truly surrender (like water and moon) knowing this is the best way to birth the new energy (information) of wisdom. I am so thrilled to teach with Minakshi and see what we will be birthing this time. I am so ready to surrender in each student’s arms and feel — knowing that I will have the privilege to feel each student’s essence in my heart and pericardium. Just closing my eyes and surrendering in their arms — waiting to feel in my heart. It is like a meditation of “nothingness” and waiting to feel their wisdom as it bubbles up.
Maybe that is beyond our skills but discovering our true essence is not.
My love and appreciation to you all,
