In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu is used to act upon the body’s natural energetic channels known as “meridians.” By activating a shiatsu meridian, one releases energy through the body to increase the flow of vitality. The practice of Shiatsu Yoga™ is especially good to restore the harmony of a human body.
The chart on the right diagrams the 12 basic shiatsu meridians and their corresponding vital organs. For the practice of Shiatsu Yoga, Master Shinzo created specific hand holds and postures to activate each meridian. When these postures are put into motion, one is able to create a deeper flow of energy through the meridians.
